Workshop on surveillance of emerging arboviruses in the Mediterranean region under a “One Health” approach

December 11-12, 2018 Teramo (Italy)

This workshop was organised by the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale dell’Abruzzo e del Molise (IZSAM), with the support of the Italian National Institute of Health (ISS), and was held at the International Centre for Veterinary Training and Information (CIFIV), the training facility of IZSAM.

main objectives of the workshop

23 Public Health and Veterinary officials from 13 national administrations of the countries belonging to the network participated in the workshop.

The main objectives of these two days were :

- To discuss and analyse the main components needed and the main gaps at national and regional levels, for the proper implementation of integrated surveillance systems for arboviruses in these countries
- To identify the main training needs for building the required capacities at national level for the implementation of integrated surveillance systems for arboviruses in the countries of the network.
